Yaesu FTDX-101MP

Note: These notes are for my reference using information apt to my setup. Yours may differ.

FTDX-101 to VL-1000 Quadra Connections

• A CT-178 Yaesu Cable is needed, or make your own.
• Remote switch on the rear of the VL-1000 Quadra is ON
• Note: I have reduced max power to 100w from the MP to avoid overdriveing the VL-1000.
• Remember the 101D/MP uses the 2nd inputs on the VL-1000

FTDX-101 Serial Cable

Pin for Pin.  ie 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, etc.

FTDX-101 - Keying the Voice Keyer via CAT control

{CAT1ASC PB0#;} where the # is number 1 to 4 for the message banks.
{CAT2ASC PB0#,} where CAT2 is for the 2nd rig if using SO2R setups.
{CAT1ASC EX0101111;} changes the FTDX101 to accept PC audio and
{CAT1ASC EX0101110;} switches back to Microphone.

SETTING UP THE RADIO FOR N1MM AND DATA MODES

Note: 232C Rate is for serial cable, and CAT rate is for USB connection.

Note: VOX needs to be on for voice and data modes.

SETTING UP N1MM LOGGER FOR THE FTDX-101MP

Note: Use COM6 Enhanced to talk to radio CAT. COM5 is used for EXTFSK RTTY as assigned above.
